Well now......

Still a bit above my finances, but it would appear that the affordable 3D printer/rapid prototyper is on it's way.... Thanks, mdlbear for the link.

And on another note, everybody who subscribes to anything over the Internet may wish to read through the following sequence of posts in PC World:

PC World - Just Cancel the @#%$* Account!. yeech....

Is it wrong to lust after hardware?

Depends on the hardware, I'd say. In this case, I think you can go for it.... :)

Once upon a time, I dreamed of the day I could stash books on a hand-held reader, and not have to figure out how to glue another bookcase to the ceiling. For me, this day has arrived with my Palm TX (and the Tungsten T3 that proceeded it.) My daughter, the artist, has been similarly dreaming of the cheap version of 3D printer... and with luck she's not going to have to wait as long as I did. :) I predict much fun and art.

Regarding the Account Cancellations - I've made anything from classmates.com go straight to the trash, unread. I've tried to unsubscribe, and it's easier just to Junk/Spam-mark it than deal with them directly.

Long as they're not billing you for anything. There are some companies I have similarly killfiled, but because more spammers use their return than real ones (PayPal, eBay) making it easier just to check in on them every once in awhile to see if there's a Problem.

I mean to Avoid the hassle generators on that list as much as possible. I've already got an Earthlink account, but otherwise I seem to be clear. And Earthlink will listen - you just have to beat them about the head and shoulders with a clue-by-four for awhile.
