THAT was interesting...

Finished my message, went to post it, and the software insisted that my password was "easy to guess" and I should change it. Ok - a few tests later and I find that it says the same about any random set of letters. So what they want is for it to contain a number or symbol. Which is fine, but they really ought to say as much. More accurate. Less rude.

LiveJournal decided that if there are any repeated letters in your password it's "too easy to gues". <sigh>

Yes and no... Mine is only letters and has a repeating set of letters right next to each other, but it's 14 characters long. Live Journal's sotware has never complained about it.

I gather this is new - when you create a password it won't let you use letters alone. I wonder if they've been having some sort of problems. And if requiring everybody to stick a number or symbol in there somewhere is really going to help any. Passwords are far more likely to be picked up by spyware than guessed.
