Garage door update

Called the remaining three companies who got back to me. One was bogus - judging by what the person who answered the phone said they only do roll-up, so the guy was probably going to try to talk me out of tilt-up. At least two of the remaining three specifically stated they DO do the right kind of door, though, so I have hopes for the three estimates coming up next Monday and Tues (I figured two estimates per day was quite enough, especially since I wanted to keep them out of each other's way. (Ok, two representatives trying to one-up each other might be fun to watch, but really not very useful. :) )

Now all I need to do is find the last remaining item I need for my halloween costume. Which is frustrating because.. on second thought I'll explain that after the party this Saturday. :)

Some garage-door companies only do roll-ups, as there's less call for tilt-ups, they save a lot of space and weight, and they're usually more durable. And they make the installers more money.
Then there's the safety issues with kids climbing up on the inside portion of the door when it's open, and getting hurt.

Hmm, what? Me? Well, I never got hurt...

Grin... I spent a fair part of my childhood either on top of the avocado tree or under the floor. I figure my folks settled for being glad they knew where I was most of the time, anyway. :)

If I were building a brand new garage, I'd probably go rollup myself, but in this case the garage is not built for it and modifying it to suit would cost me much needed storage space.
