Though I would like to know what's such a spoiler about the Space Needle - what if you LIVE in Seattle?

The fact that the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle is expensive is probably the reason for that. I ate there once. The food was unmemorable. I remember that my uncle had snails and tried to get me to try them, but I don't remember what I had at all.

I don't see a bunch of the other things listed here as being indicators of being spoiled though.

Do people who live in Seattle avoid going up the Space Needle the way people from New York avoid going to the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building?

My relatives who live there don't seem to avoid it as such, but I don't think they routinely go up it unless they're taking out-of-town visitors with them.

I haven't been there for a long time, but twenty-odd years ago, when I spent parts of three summers with those relatives, there was an amusement park type place around the Space Needle, and going there was popular with the kids, so there was reason to go there apart from the Space Needle itself.
