Comix

Currently reading my way through Sequential Art from the beginning to the current strip. Which may be the only way to truly appreciate this thing and I highly recommend it. Anyway, after a long and very weird sequence involving invading aliens, and even weirder terrestrials, we finally come to this strip, which is a hoot all by itself, and besides - I want one!! And believe it or not, it really makes sense if you've read the previous strips...

In other news, and in case I'm not the slowest one to discover this, there's a new Knights Errant tale, covering the time earlier than the previous one, mostly because the artist realized just how MUCH backstory she was having to tell as flashback... Anyway Knights Errant Pavane (current title) is now under way on Tumblr. And if you haven't read the original, it's another item you'd best start from the beginning, so go here...

Last night I finished updating the Recommended Anthropomorphics List to show the last of each title published in 2013 (the safest way to find the date, given that artists aren't always all that careful about dating their work.) It's already up - go have a look, and remember, you still have until January 15 to make recommendations, and everything MUST have been published/released/escaped in 2013.

And any Glitchen out there who haven't found this yet, take a look at This Quiet Ur. The game may be over... but the story goes on!

Noooooo!!
I was about to start on the archives for Space Trawler. Darn this excess of funny goodness! ;-)

The standalone example was definitely a hoot. XD

I'm having enough fun catching up on all the goodness I missed while away for X-mas.

I'm also finishing up my next strip for this weekend's update of Angels & Aliens [littlelevers.com/angels] (cheap plug) & want to officially, & on her own page, thank Kate for the great idea for the X-mas filler. Even my tea party loving, thinks everything I do is inappropriately liberal, Brother in Law loved it.

Is that Kate the incredible Beaton you're talking about there? I'm Kay Shapero, so if that was the announcement you get to do it again.

That was my fingers typing faster than my brain was going. I meant Kay, I thought that I wrote Kay, & I apologize for the confusion

Unless you didn't do a filk mash up of the Banana Boat song with "Angels We Have Heard On High." in which case my apology extends in an abruptly different direction.

Ah, the penny drops. Yeah, that was me all right, and I love the picture you did of it! The song itself was written years ago and forgotten about until a few months ago when I found it and passed it along to Lee.

I, too, love Sequential Art, but I find it frustrating how erratically it updates. Sometimes two or three new comics in one week, sometimes nothing for over a month.

I generally maintain three sets of bookmarks, one for comics I'm reading from the start set to where I left off, and the other two for comics that I'm reading regularly. The others are the one I check daily more or less, and the one I check weekly. Keeps me from getting QUITE as annoyed at the ones that bounce merrily around with no apparent update schedule in sight. It also has a few hanger deck lilies checked about twice a YEAR in the hope that one will start up again, that I haven't quite given up on. :(

I find that a service, I typically use Piperka (http://piperka.net), which let's me know when a sporadic comic spits out a new strip is adequate. It cut's down on the amount of bookmarks I need to sift through & sometimes presents me with a pleasant surprise when a long forgotten treasure re-emerges.

As with any kind of service, there are occasional glitches & burps in the service itself, last week I found myself looking at 120 updates of a comic I had forgotten about & which had changed their URL back when.
