Upcoming convention

elisem is trying to improve the nearly invisible status of the new, recreated from its legendary forbears, Fourth Street Fantasy Convention in Minneappolis Minnesota, to be held June 20-22, this year.  Sounds like fun.  If you think you might be in that area at the right time* take a look!

*I, alas, being in California will not.  OTOH, I LIKE being in California so it could be worse.  :)

Meanwhile, I just finished loadiing March of the Falsettos, Sweeney Todd (stage version), and some of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, set things to shuffle, then turned my music player loose.  It finished "I never wanted to love you" from Falsettos, then switched to Moon's Meadows Emerald Web when I filled out "current music" and is now playing "A Hazy Shade of Winter" by Simon and Garfunkel.  And tonight's the Passover seder.  Life is good.

I saw "Sweeney Todd" on Broadway. Back when Len Cariou was still in the title role. (The video that was shown on PBS has George Hearn.)

This is the 2005 Broadway revival with Michael Cerveris and Patti LuPone. Haven't heard the whole album yet but I like what I've heard thus far. I'd love to see the play sometime. Meanwhile, at least I've seen the movie (I think my favorite part is "By the Sea" with Sweeney so relentlessly radiating gloom in black in white with a full color surrounding. :))
